Old Man Winter

This is who we are blaming for water outages during cold weather days. Old Man Winter! You may notice lower pressure or no water at all, but West Carteret Water Corporation did not turn your water off-nor would we ever over the weekend unless you had a leak.

Old Man Winter is the culprit and with the remaining low temps, it is not likely that it will thaw soon after. Even the smallest area that is not insulated can cause you to lose water service due to frozen plumbing.

WCWC cannot assist with locating frozen pipes. However, if you remain without water until midday, call the office at (252) 393-1515 until 4:00 pm and we can check the area of the water meter- not your personal plumbing. (There is “frozen” advice on our website wcwc.biz)
