Public water utilities have a hygienic role in protecting human health. Our goal is to ensure that our staff and customers are kept as safe as possible. Following recommendations by the CDC to limit contact and to cancel/postpone events involving more than 50 people that are scheduled within the next eight (8) weeks, the following summarizes the attached memo:
1) The Annual Membership Meeting, Open House and Ribbon Cutting for Phase V on th...e 50th Anniversary of Earth Day has been postponed until late summer or early fall. It was originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2020. This was a difficult decision, as we had held the Groundbreaking for Phase V in 2015 on Earth Day, but we felt it was the responsible decision at this point.
2) At current, our office doors are open. However, we are requesting that all business be transacted remotely via email (water@wcwc.biz) and/or phone (252-393-1515 or 877-393-6829). That includes water payments, closing accounts, opening new accounts, and so forth. (Regarding payments, we now have the ability to take a check payment over the phone.) WCWC will be very liberal in dealing with the tasks, including taking verbal applications and making payment extensions. We understand that the COVID-19 issue can be challenging in different ways to different people. Therefore, we are handling each on a case by case basis.
3) If you MUST visit our office, we ask that you transact business at our drive-thru window. We will accommodate you in any way possible, including accepting debit and credit cards at the drive-thru during business hours (M-F 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
If you have an after-hour concern, my mobile number is 252-241-0116 and is available for texts/calls. Thank you for your patience and please do not hesitate to reach out to us for any matter that you need assistance.
